One of our themes this month is governmentality. What the Sam Hill does that mean?
In part, "governmentality" is a term Foucault first used to explain the very real project taken on by institutions (including the state) to turn citizens into "docile bodies" who can be more easily used by those in power. Foucault argued that these "docile bodies" are best formed not through punishment or force, but by convincing people to police both themselves and others.
