Be (y)our Valentine

To: you From: us ahem... Yes, roses are red, And violets are blue, But Hallmark holidays, Are not healthy for you. To like someone's great, So is lust from afar, But to build up one day, Is just really bizarre. Who wants to get gifts, Of chocolate and jewels, From heart strings pulled strong by, Conventional rules? For passion's not meant, To conform in this way, Be it February 14, Or the third week of May. One gives meaningful gifts, True heart palpitation, At times that demand, Far less mass obligation. Because firey loins, And hormonal ragings, Need no artifice, Or consumptive grand stagings. So, FTD, fail! We will pine, we will ache, On the days that we choose, Not the days that you make. And spend as we please, This most faux-festive day, Without posture or cheese, In our own heart-felt way. Be yours. Happy February! Aimee & LoCA |
